Content Removal & DMCA

We don't host any videos or images on Goon Diary. Posts only contain links, titles and preview pictures that point to other websites. So when we take something down, it comes off Goon Diary, but the video itself is still on the site hosting it. To get it removed there too, contact that site.

The fastest way to flag something is the Report button on the post, comment, thread or reply. If you say someone in it might be underage, it gets hidden right away, before a mod even looks at it.

1. Someone underage, or child sexual abuse material

Use Report and pick "Someone in it might be underage". It's hidden immediately, a mod reviews it, and we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). You can also report it straight to NCMEC's CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678. If a child is in danger right now, call your local emergency number.

2. Intimate images of you shared without your consent

If a post links to or shows intimate pictures or video of you that went up without your consent, deepfakes included, we'll take it down. We remove valid requests within 48 hours, along with any copies we know about on the site. You don't need an account to ask.

Email [CONTACT EMAIL] and include:

  1. a link to each post on Goon Diary, or enough detail for us to find it
  2. a short statement that you're the person in it (or you're allowed to act for them) and that it was shared without consent
  3. how we can reach you
  4. your signature (typing your full name is fine)

We will never ask you to send us the images themselves.

3. Copyright (DMCA notices)

We respect copyright and respond to notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). If you think something on Goon Diary infringes a copyright you own, or one you're allowed to enforce, send our agent (below) a written notice that includes:

  1. your physical or electronic signature
  2. which copyrighted work you think is being infringed
  3. what you want taken down on Goon Diary, with a link or enough detail to find it
  4. your name, address, phone number and email
  5. a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't allowed by the copyright owner, their agent or the law
  6. a statement that everything in your notice is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the copyright or are allowed to act for the owner

Sending a notice you know is false can make you liable for damages (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).

If your post was taken down by mistake

You can send our agent a counter-notice. It needs:

  1. your physical or electronic signature
  2. what was removed and where it was before it came down
  3. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or because it was misidentified
  4. your name, address and phone number, a statement that you accept the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you're outside the US, any district where we can be found), and that you'll accept service of legal papers from the person who sent the original notice

Unless the person who sent the notice tells us within 10 to 14 business days that they've gone to court, we may put the post back up.

Repeat infringers

Members who keep infringing copyright get banned.

4. Anything else

For anything else that breaks our Terms, like someone's personal info, harassment or spam, hit Report or email [CONTACT EMAIL].
